Erasing evil marks
Galatians 6:17 says, “From hence forth let no man trouble me; for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus.”
What is a mark?
Simply put, a mark is something used to recognize a particular thing. It can also be an object that serves as a guide to something. We have physical and spiritual marks because everything existing in the physical has its spiritual representative.
Characteristics of spiritual marks.
Spiritual marks can either be positive or negative. Let us consider some examples.
A spiritual mark can be applied by either a divine or demonic ink. The blood of Jesus Christ represents the ink of the Almighty. When this divine ink is applied on someone, no witch or power of darkness can touch the person. But when the demonic ink is applied, evil people will have access to him. Spiritual marks cannot be seen with the ordinary eyes. Only those who possess either positive or negative supernatural powers can identify those who have evil or divine marks.
It is possible for a spiritual mark to be on a person right from the day he was born. Meaning that a person can collect a mark right from the day he was conceived. Some people were conceived at disco parties where their mothers committed immorality with their male dancing partners. Some were conceived in the streets where their mothers were trading. There is no way children conceived in these manners would not have bad marks from birth. If nothing is done to remove these evil marks they could be there until the affected persons die.
A person can have more than one spiritual mark on his life. There was a man who did not know that he had the evil marks of wastage and amputation. When his father died, he told the villagers that he would beat the record of the last person who killed seven cows to bury his father by slaughtering ten for his own father’s burial. But as he was running around looking for money to buy the cows, he suddenly fell down and died and he was buried before his father. His family killed five cows for his own burial and only one for the father’s. At the end of the day, he could not beat the record. What was wrong with that man? Evil marks.
A spiritual mark can have good or bad smell. Somebody with the mark of sweet smell would always be favoured while somebody who has the mark of bad smell would always experience misfortune. One man complained to me saying, “Sir, pray for me, I don’t know why I get mad at my wife anytime I see her.” He could not explain why he got angry with her whenever she was around. The problem was that she had a mark of bad odour on her. A spiritual mark can also manifest in form of positive or negative magnet. The positive magnet will magnetize goodness while the negative one will magnetize evil. Evil marks can also be used to monitor a person. Psalm 56:6 says,
“They gather themselves together, they hide themselves, they mark my steps, when they wait for my soul.”
This means that the enemy monitors people’s activities through the marks to get at them.
Evil spiritual marks can attract evil arrows. Lamentations 3:12 says, “He hath bent his bow, and set me as a mark for the arrow.”
Spiritual marks are generally on the foreheads, hands and legs. Ezekiel 9:4 says,
“And the Lord said unto him, go through the most of the city (through the most of Jerusalem) and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.”
The Bible also mentions the mark of the anti-Christ in Revelation 13:16 which says, “And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads.”
It is like when an African in anger says, “Your head is bad.” The mark of the anti-Christ is an evidence of one with the greatest “bad head” because it is a sign of eternal destruction. An evil mark may be on somebody’s feet and anywhere he goes he introduces problem there for example, financial lack and terrible misfortunes. Experience has shown that sometimes, when you lay your hands on the heads of some people and begin to challenge them aggressively with the fire of God, they become dizzy or their bodies will begin to vibrate.
Those marks that you cannot explain how they came to your body are spiritual marks.
People can be divided into two groups:
Those with the mark of the Lord and those with evil marks. Some people have the mark of the Lord on their lives while others have the mark of the devil. So, the concern of this message is to pray specifically against all evil marks. Gen. 4:9-15 says,
“And the Lord said unto Cain, where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: am I my brother’s keeper? And he said, what hast thou done? The voice of thy brother’s blood crieth unto me from the ground. And now art thou cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother’s blood from thy hand; When thou tillest the ground, It shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be in the earth. And Cain said unto the Lord, My punishment is greater than I can bear. Behold, thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the earth; and from thy face shall I be hid; and I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond in the earth; and it shall come to pass, that every one that findeth me shall slay me. And the Lord said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the Lord set a mark upon Cain, Lest any finding him should kill him.”
The mark was to retain Cain alive so that he would not die before his time and his punishment would be cut short. Also Malachi 3:18 says,
“Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth Him not.”
In Ezekiel 9, we have a wonderful story of when God issued judgment on Israel and only the wicked ones were destroyed. To implement this, God sent His angels to put marks on the foreheads of those who were on His side. The most important question now is, do you have the mark of God upon your life? God told the Israelites during the first Passover in Egypt; “When I see the blood, I will pass over you.” Jesus said, “I know my sheep and my sheep know my voice, a stranger they would not follow.” A blessed man would have a blessed mark on him while a confused man would have the mark of confusion.
Evil marks can come on one in several ways:
1.They could come as a result of concoctions drank by one’s mother when the person was in the womb. Or through baths she took at the beach. Problems start as soon as a person collects evil marks no matter where he is because evil spirits will always locate him through the marks.
2. A person can obtain evil marks by decision. It is like the story of a boy, who after failing JAMB examination three times, decided to follow somebody to the burial ground to acquire means of passing the examination the fourth time. At the end of the day, he passed the examination and got admitted into the university. But he eventually ran mad during his final year.
3. One can also receive mark through inheritance.
4. Another way of getting evil marks is through corrupting the image of God. The Bible says that God created man in His own image. When you are looking at a new born baby, you are looking at an innocent and pure image of God. But any evil treatment given to that image invites the marks of the enemy. This explains why the Bible is against incisions, bleaching of the skin, putting holes in the ears, sexual perversion, etc. Those with tribal marks must pray to wipe out the effect of those marks on their lives. God in His infinite wisdom knows why He made you the way you are. Any attempt to alter the original image of God in your life amounts to corruption.
Nobody who bleaches his skin can receive the fullness of the Holy Spirit and his chances of getting to heaven is slim unless he repents, makes restitution and prays. If God wanted your fingers and lips to be coloured, He would have done it right from your mother’s womb.
5. Following after the pattern of your parents’ ungodly lifestyle will invite evil marks to your life. I Corinthians 5:5 says, ” To deliver such a one unto satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus”
This passage shows that the devil can have a hold on the flesh or body of a believer even though his spirit is saved.
When Adam and Eve were in the garden of Eden, they were covered with the glory of God and did not need to put on any clothes. But when the glory of God departed from them, they began to engage in all kinds of corruption. It is lack of the glory of God that makes people to bleach their skin, perm their hair and perforate their ears. Before now, it was only those who had water and familiar spirits problems that put on chains on their legs in this part of the world. But nowadays, people wear chains on their legs in the name of fashion and end up putting themselves into bondage.
Many people invite unnecessary troubles into their lives by putting on demonic things which they do not bother to find out their origin. They forget that the Bible says that at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow, of things in heaven, on earth and underneath the earth. I have prayed with numberless women who were not enjoying their marriages because of a ring or chain. I have also witnessed wedding rings disappearing from many people’s fingers after some aggressive prayers. This is why we wed couples with only the Bible in the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries and not rings. Since no herbalist or power of darkness can steal the Bible, such marriages can never be stolen.
6. Sometimes, evil spiritual marks are given to people in their dreams. It is a pity that the devil makes sure that some people cannot remember their dreams so that they will not be able to do anything about the evil things he plants in their lives in the dream. God speaks to people through dreams and satan harms people through dreams as well. Therefore it is not a good thing if you see or hear nothing when you sleep. If that is your case, you need to pray because it is a sign of an evil mark.
The only people who are completely free from evil marks are those who have never been involved with dark powers in any way. They are those who live consistent holy lives and are watched by the angels of the living God. If you want to get an idea of how angels operate, you take a look at the way soldiers and policemen do their parades on special occasions. The orderliness of these colourful parades are nothing compared with how the angels of God operate. If you run to Jesus, every evil mark on your life would be cleared, for He is the only one that has the power to erase evil marks completely from a person’s life.
Evil marks are not to be commanded to come out like evil spirits, they are to be rubbed off. Acts 7:22 makes us to understand why the devil struggled so hard for the soul of Moses after his death. “And Moses was learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians and was mighty in words and indeed.”
This is telling us that Moses was learned in all the magic, witchcraft and other mystic things of Egypt. No wonder we come across things like incisions and other form of abominable things in his books.
Other signs of evil marks are the following:
1. Masturbation.
2. Prostitution.
3. Addiction.
4. Incurable diseases.
5. Forgetfulness.
6. Interest in pornography.
7. Inability to forsake fornication.
8. Lack of progress in life.
2 Corinthians 7:1 says, “Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.”
I am sure it is clear to us that the book of Corinthians was written only for Christians and not for unbelievers. So we are told here that there could be filth both in the flesh and in the spirit. No wonder one of our wonderful hymns says, “Have you been to Jesus for the cleansing power? Have you been washed in the blood of the lamb?…”It is when the whole of your being is dipped in the blood of the lamb that all evil marks will disappear.
I was in a prayer meeting sometime ago where God opened my eyes to see a chain hung on the neck of a man. When I moved closer to him, I could not see the chain. When I started to wonder, the Lord told me that it was spiritual chain. I asked him who he was and where he come from. And he said he was a pastor of a church. I told him he was having a chain on his neck and he confirmed that his grand mother gave him one a very long time ago which was at home. I counselled him to go and destroy the chain, but he called it a “false doctrine” Then I told him that his inability to see the truth was another mark of its own because the enemy had blinded him from the truth.
If you notice that failure has been trailing you physically, spiritually and financially, you must take this message seriously. If you can pray aggressively now, all the evil marks on your life will be replaced by good ones. I pray that God will help you as you do so, in Jesus’ name.

1. I cover myself with the blood of Jesus, in Jesus’ name.
2. (Grip your head with your two hands) With the blood of Jesus, I wash my head clean, in the name of Jesus.
3. Every mark of failure, infirmity and defeat on my life, be rubbed off with the blood of Jesus, in Jesus’ name.
4. (Put one hand on your head and the other on your stomach) Every satanic mark, be erased by the blood of Jesus, in Jesus’ name.
5. Father Lord, take your heavenly sponge and give me Your own bath, in Jesus’ name.
6. From henceforth, let no one trouble me for I have the mark of the Lord, in Jesus’ name.
7. Evil marks go, good marks come, in the name of Jesus.
8. Every evil mark that has been removed from my life, be gone for ever, in Jesus’ name.
